General Info

The Upper Valley Mountain Literature Society is a book group aimed at addressing themes of humanity, survival and perseverance (among others) through the specific lens of mountain and outdoor themed literature. Meetings are held in the community room of the Tunbridge Public Library. Check the blog for specific information about the material for each meeting.

Everybody is welcome to attend meetings, and no prior knowledge of mountains or mountain terminology is required. Mountain literature is an incredibly inspiring and engaging genre, and absolutely everyone is capable of enjoying any one of the hundreds of extremely well written books that are a part of it.

It's more of a travel book and less of a hardcore suffering epic. I've put a poll below. If a majority of people select "sailing book," I'll pick one and let the group know which book specifically we're going to read. What do you want to read for our next book? Reminder: meeting next week

This is just a quick reminder of our meeting next Thursday. If you haven't already had a chance to read "The Ascent of Rum Doodle", the library has at least one copy which you should be able check out. This is an extremely funny book, and well worth looking into.
