Meeting date change!

Our current meeting date, September 13, is the first day of the Tunbridge Fair. This would no doubt make parking problematic, as well as interfere with plans many of us have to go to the fair. For these reasons, I think it would be wise to  change the date to Thursday, September 20.

Next book and meeting date chosen

Our latest poll is over. Our next meeting date, decided by an overwhelming majority, is September 13. Our next item of discussion, decided by a much narrower margin, will be   No Shortcuts to the Top , by Ed Viesturs. This is a great book (with a great title, as well). I'll contact the library and see if they can get any copies through inter-library-loan. Expect an update on any progress in this area sometime in the next few days. With that said, there are some very cheap copies (in the realm of $3-4) available online.

Back from Peru and Next Book/Meeting Selection

I've returned from a two week expedition of my own to Peru (maybe in a few years the UVMLS will be reading a book about it!) and a few days of camping in the Adirondacks this past week. This means that I [finally] have ready access to a computer, so the UVMLS can begin choosing our next book and meeting date. There are polls on the blog where you can vote for both. The possible meeting times are in early to mid September. If we can choose our next book quickly, I think that should give us plenty of time to read it. As summer comes to a close, I look forward to resuming regular UVMLS meetings. Enjoy the next book!
