Our discussion of "Into Thin Air" was extremely successful - we saw a 100% increase in attendance, and the conversation was insightful and exciting. Some of the main ideas we discussed were climbers' neglect of their families, lack of requirements/qualifications for climbing Everest, and the often deadly "summit fever" that consumes many climbers while in the mountains. Right now, we're planning on having our next meeting in 5 weeks, on Thursday, April 26, but we still need to choose a book. After some discussion at the end of yesterday's meeting, we agreed that an online poll would be the best way of determining what this next book will be.
