Although we had a few members who couldn't make it to our discussion yesterday, it was still well attended and very engaging. I'll post details about our next book and meeting date in the next few days.
After more than a month long break, I think it's time to bring the UVMLS back. Right now, I think a good next meeting date would be Thursday, February 28th. This gives us some time to pick and read our next book. Speaking of which, I have a few ideas for our next read. At the last meeting, we had mentioned maybe branching out and reading a book about long-distance sailing, which, while not "mountain literature," has many themes in common with other books we've read. I'd like to put this out for consideration, but I also think that A Short Walk in the Hindu Kush , by Eric Newby, could be a good pick that is still mountain-based. It's more of a travel book and less of a hardcore suffering epic. I've put a poll below.
